Frozen_Four_Logo Hosting successful NCAA Championship events and setting event attendance records has become habit forming for Detroit Sports who can now add the 2010 NCAA Men’s Frozen Four to their resume that already included the 2007 NCAA Division 1 Wrestling Championships and the 2009 NCAA Men’s Final Four.

Held at Detroit’s Ford Field April 8-10, the Frozen Four proved to be a major success for Detroit Sports and their co-host, the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (“CCHA”).  A first-time seating configuration for the Frozen Four allowed for attendance records of 34,954 for the semi-finals and 37,592 for the Championship game won by Boston College 5-0 over Wisconsin.

In addition to the unique seating configuration, the event was the first hockey game in Ford Field.  NHL ice expert Dan Craig directed the ice installation using similar methods as the NHL Winter Classic events held in various U.S. cities.

Key to the success of the event were hundreds of enthusiastic Detroit Sports’ volunteers who helped visiting fans enjoy their stay in Detroit and take part in the many ancillary events including the College Hockey Fan Festival and Friday Night at the Frozen Four and the NCAA Skills Challenge.
