DETROIT TO WELCOME NATIONAL

AND LOCAL/COLLEGE HOCKEY FANS

DETROIT (Jan. 26, 2010) – College hockey will take center stage at the GM Wintergarden in Detroit from April 8-10 when the Detroit Local Organizing Committee (DLOC) for the 2010 NCAA® Men’s Frozen Four® will host a three-day, fun-filled College Hockey FanFest.

FanFest hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 9, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.  Admission and all activities will be free of charge and will celebrate college hockey’s national championship with a variety of activities including:

  • Hockey-themed interactive skill activities
  • A “Center Rink” event stage featuring continuous programming
  • Pep Rallies; bands and mascots
  • Disc jockey and live musical entertainment
  • Frozen Four® team Lockers and uniform Displays
  • NCAA championship trophy exhibit
  • Official championship merchandise
  • Zamboni display
  • College hockey historical display

“The College Hockey FanFest will celebrate hockey and welcome visitors as Detroit becomes the epicenter of college hockey for the NCAA Men’s Frozen Four,” said Tom Anastos, commissioner of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA). “All activities will be free-of-charge and we promise a fun experience in downtown Detroit for all who attend.”
