As previewed in yesterday’s blog post “Countdown to Match of the Titans: A.C. Milan,” A.C. Milan and Panathinaikos F.C.. will be playing head to head for the first time in the United States at Silver Dome tonight! The matchup will feature two of the best teams in the world and should be an exciting event for all sports fans.Yesterday we took a closer look at A.C. Milan so today we will focus on Panathinaikos F.C.
Panathinaikos F.C. has no shortage of titles or dominance. The club is a member of the elite Superleague Greece. Hailing from Athens, Greece; the team known as “The Shamrock” has won the Greek Championship 20 times! In addition, they have won the Greek Cup 17 times, totaling for second most in history. Panathinaikos F.C. has even gone as far as to be the runner-up in the Intercontinental Cup and the European Cup. The Shamrock will be entering play in the 2010 UEFA Champions League, entering in the Third Qualifying Round.
