The Detroit Sports Commission Prep Kickoff Classic is the showcase & kickoff event for the Michigan high school football season. The award-winning event, formerly known since its inception in 2005 as the Big Day Prep Showdown, is organized and promoted by the Detroit Sports Commission, the subsidiary of the Detroit Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau.
In the past, the event has featured some of the state’s top players including Devin Gardner (Inkster) of the University of Michigan, and Keshawn Martin (Westland John Glenn) of Michigan State University.
Along with it's new name, The Detroit Sports Commission Prep Kickoff Classic will have a new home in 2012 at Tom Adams Field on the campus of Wayne State University. This year's event will feature six games over two days from August 24 and 25.
The 2012 schedule will be highlighed by 2011 Divison 1 State Champion Detroit Cass Tech taking on 2011 Division 2 champion Birmingham Brother Rice. To view the remaining match-ups in the 2012 schedule, please use the link below.
